Jour Ensoleillé
Jour Ensoleillé (sunny day) marries a lively floral blend of orange blossom, tuberose, and jasmine with a soft woodsy, mossy base that is gently chypre in nature. Like the golden late summer sunshine as the season moves toward fall, Jour Ensoleillé warms your spirit with its uplifting blend of woods and florals. The woodsy base makes this fragrance a favorite for men as well as women, though the floral notes are prominent.

Perfumer's Comments: I was lucky to grow up in a rural area at the base of some beautiful wooded foothills. After school each day I spent my afternoons at a nearby barn riding horses and working until dark, and my favorite time of day was late afternoon when the setting sun created a beautiful golden glow on the hills in the distance and on the oaks all around me. Later on I lived in a more suburban environment and didn't have that special view, but I still found places to see the golden afternoon light on the street trees out the windows. Now I'm back in a beautiful spot again and treasure the hills all the time, but the late afternoon light is still my favorite. Jour Ensoleille makes me think of that afternoon golden glow on the hills and oaks; it's a happy scent for me.

Oakmoss
|
| |
Oakmoss, or Evernia prunastri, is a lichen that grows on oaks as well as some other trees and is harvested to produce oakmoss absolute. The absolute is green or brown and is very thick; it has a wonderful earthy, mossy aroma with herbal and green nuances. Oakmoss absolute is a skin allergen to a small percentage of people, so its usage is restricted to small amounts of the low-atranol natural version, and synthetics are often substituted instead, though they don't smell as beautiful as the natural. Jour Ensoleille contains natural low atranol oakmoss.

Orange blossom absolute, from Citrus aurantium, has an exquisite, rich floral aroma used as a heart note in perfume. Neroli essential oil from Citrus aurantium is lovely too, but it is shorter lasting on the skin than the absolute and is a top to middle note.
