Body Products

All our body creams and lotions are made with pure, natural oils and butters; they contain no parabens, mineral oil, petrolatum, TEA, DEA, sulfates, or formaldehydes, all of which are very common in lotion. We use shea butter, cocoa butter, organic herbs, and lovely natural oils such as sweet almond, avocado, grapeseed, coconut, and meadowfoam seed. These natural ingredients are rich in antioxidants that benefit your skin. Specific ingredient lists are given with the description of each product below. We're very fussy about our ingredients and hope you'll feel as good using these creams and lotions as we feel offering them. The offerings vary a bit with the season; we do the shea cream from late summer until spring but usually stop shipping it during the hottest summer months.

Body Silk

Our new Body Silk lotion contains antioxidant-rich grapeseed oil, avocado oil with its oleic and linoleic essential fatty acids and skin-softening sterolins, shea butter, and vitamins A, C, D, and E. The lotion also contains silk protein, which helps bind water to skin to keep it hydrated and adds a smooth feel during application. Body Silk lotion is lighter than our shea butter body cream and absorbs more quickly. It is thick for a lotion but not as thick as a cream, so it can be packaged in Malibu squeeze tubes for easy application; the tubes sit on their heads so the lotion is always at the end with the dispensing hole where you want it.

Natural Shea Body Cream
with 35% shea butter and all natural oils

In addition to shea butter, Natural Shea Body Cream contains silk protein (helps bind water to skin to keep it hydrated and gives the cream a smooth feel during application), evening primrose oil (a concentrated source of the essential fatty acid called gamma-linoleic acid or GLA that is beneficial to skin), rosehip oil (high in vitamin A as well as linolenic and linoleic essential fatty acids), avocado oil (rich in vitamins A, E, and D as well as oleic and linoleic essential fatty acids and skin-softening sterolins), olive oil (a lovely oil for skin that is rich in oleic essential fatty acid and also provides linoleic fatty acid and polyphenol antioxidants), and sunflower oil (emollient oil that contains vitamin E and linoleic essential fatty acid).

Lavender Absolute
This is a blend for lavender lovers that contains an exceptional lavender absolute. Like the essential oil, lavender absolute has the slightly camphorous herbal kick of the real flower, but it has a smoother scent than lavender essential oil, has a stronger coumarin note, and lasts longer on the skin. Lavender absolute is rarely offered in lotion because it costs much more than the essential oil. This blend is mostly lavender with subtle complementary touches of violet, cedar, neroli, citrus, amber, and patchouli.

Velvet Rose
A deep and velvety rose soliflore with soft supporting notes of bergamot, violet leaf, carnation, musk, and patchouli. Like a fresh-picked rose. For maximum staying power, layer with the
matching edp or parfum oil.

Amber
A golden amber with additional notes of sandalwood, patchouli, light spices, and vanilla. Coming soon.

Egyptian Musk
A classic light egyptian musk scent for the Body Silk lotion but not currently available in shea cream. Also available in
edp and parfum oil. Best to sample first because some people are anosmic to this type of pure, light musk scent.

Femme Jolie
A long-lasting cedar scent composed of woods, soft spices, musk, fruits, and florals. Notes are ginger, cinnamon, clove, plum, peach, orange blossom, violet, cedar, sandalwood, vanilla, musk. The floral notes are soft and the cedar and spices are more prominent. Femme Jolie is still the same as the original formulation (no changes) and is available
in edp and parfum oil for a limited time.
