The classic chypre Mitsouko by Guerlain is famous not only for its oakmoss note but also for a lovely peach note. Peach and apricot notes are usually created with a combination of ingredients, including peachy lactones and other fruity aroma chemicals. One of the most well-known peach aroma chemicals is gamma undecalactone, also called peach lactone or peach aldehyde or aldehyde C-14. It occurs naturally in peach, apricot, and apple juice, as well as some other foods. Other ingredients with peach/apricot tones include Nectaryl, gamma-methyl decalactone, delta-decalactone, and apritone.
